Say Hello To Our Family:

We are delighted to partner with a respectful, professional, and busy family located in Cow Hollow, San Francisco. They are currently seeking a compassionate and highly skilled full-time Nanny/Family Assistant to join their team. The family consists of two working professional parents, two outgoing and sweet children, an exceptional full-time nanny who has been with the family for three years, and an adorable cat. As their lives become increasingly hectic, especially in the evenings, and with plans to expand their family in the future, they are seeking a long-term addition to their team.

They eagerly anticipate welcoming an individual who excels in a hybrid role, encompassing both family assistant and nanny responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess a team player mentality, adaptability, and a willingness to travel. The family embarks on journeys for approximately 5-6 weeks per year, including a three-week trip to the Midwest every summer. It is imperative that the candidate can accommodate up to a 50-hour work week during these travel adventures.

As a nanny to their children, you will be an essential figure in their lives, providing love, care, and guidance. You will have the opportunity to engage with them in various activities, such as outings to parks, museums, and playdates, encouraging their growth, development, and curiosity about the world around them. Your ability to create a stimulating and nurturing environment, filled with age-appropriate activities and educational opportunities, will be highly valued. Our family encourages you to foster their creativity, promote their physical well-being, and help them navigate social interactions. By being attentive, patient, and compassionate, you will play an instrumental role in shaping their early years and creating lasting memories.

Our family values the unique bond that their children develop with their nanny, and they believe in providing a stable and consistent presence in their lives. Your commitment to their safety, well-being, and happiness will be greatly appreciated.

Our family highly prioritizes a structured schedule and predictable routine for their children. The children typically nap daily from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm/4:00 pm. They wake up around 4 pm, have a snack, and go outside for a walk around the block. By approximately 5 pm, your role with the children will commence.

For the past three years, the family has had the privilege of working with a remarkable nanny who has become an extended part of their family. The current nanny’s schedule is Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. The family offers flexibility in scheduling options to find the perfect match and addition to their team, such as:

  • Monday to Thursday from 1:00 pm/2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturdays from 1:00 pm/3:30 pm to 10:00 pm

  • Monday to Friday from 1:00 pm/2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and every other Saturday from 1:00 pm/3:30 pm to 10:00 pm

  • Monday to Friday from 1:00 pm/2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturdays  from 1:00 pm/3:30 pm to 10:00 pm

Having a date night on Saturdays 3-4 times a month is an important aspect for the family. Therefore, the ability to work later evenings and be available on weekends is crucial. To ensure a smooth transition for the children and maintain consistency in their care, it is important to have a few hours of overlap with the current nanny during the week. This overlap period enables effective communication and upholds a consistent routine for the children’s well-being.

At their home, our family believes in fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, where their nanny and family assistant are valued as integral members of their family. They recognize the significant role you play in the daily lives of their children and household, and our family strives to create a sense of belonging and appreciation for your contributions. While professionalism is essential, they also place great value on building strong connections. They encourage open communication, collaboration, and mutual respect, allowing their nanny and family assistant to feel comfortable sharing their ideas and concerns.

Our family deeply cherishes your presence and wants you to feel genuinely embraced and included as a cherished member of our unit. At the same time, they hold in high regard the ability to sensitively read the room, intuitively gauging when it is best to gracefully step aside and create space for uninterrupted family moments

Adaptability is paramount as the family seeks a family assistant who can seamlessly transition between the roles of family assistant and nanny. It is crucial for their family assistant to be able to switch gears smoothly and efficiently. Working as a team player alongside their full-time nanny is essential, with clearly defined roles and responsibilities.

For example, in terms of household tasks, the current nanny may handle loading and running the dishwasher during her hours of duty. Your role would include emptying the dishwasher as part of maintaining an organized and tidy environment. This division of tasks ensures that the responsibilities are clearly delineated and contributes to the smooth functioning of the household.

The family highly appreciates individuals who can collaborate effectively as a team, supporting each other to provide the best care and assistance for the family. This includes open communication, coordination, and a shared commitment to the well-being and development of the children. The ability to work together harmoniously while respecting each other’s roles and contributions is of utmost importance in creating a cohesive and nurturing environment.

As their family assistant, you will have the unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on their daily lives. Beyond childcare responsibilities, you will play a pivotal role in managing the smooth functioning of the household. From pet care, organizing schedules and coordinating appointments to running errands and assisting with event planning, your contributions will be valued and appreciated. They encourage independent thinking and proactive problem-solving, allowing you to take ownership of your tasks and contribute to the overall efficiency and well-being of their family. By seamlessly integrating into their daily routines, you will help create a nurturing and enriching environment for their children and contribute to a harmonious and organized atmosphere for their family.

As the trusted family assistant, your responsibilities will vary daily. Success in this role requires being proactive, perceptive, and ready to hit the ground running each day.

  • Providing overnight care for the children while the parents are out of town

  • Having the flexibility to work some holidays during travel is appreciated

Cooking plays a crucial role in this position, and the family prefers simple meals such as chicken enchiladas and steamed vegetables. Managing grocery lists, shopping, and meal preparation are essential duties.

Regarding parking, the family currently has permit parking, but their new house in a gated area of Presidio Heights eliminates any parking concerns. Our family plans to relocate 1.5-2 years to their new home which is being renovated. They will provide a parking permit for their nanny/family assistant’s convenience. A family car will be provided for outings with the children. If a candidate uses their own vehicle for family assistant duties, mileage and gas reimbursement will be offered.
