Family Overview:

We are a relaxed and welcoming family nestled in the countryside, eagerly anticipating the arrival of our first newborn in November 2024. We are seeking a friendly, supportive, and responsible Newborn Care Specialist (NBCS) to help guide us through this precious time. With your extensive experience and deep knowledge of newborn care, you will play a crucial role in helping us adapt to our new lifestyle and ensuring we get the rest we need. Both of us work from home, so we value a harmonious and collaborative environment. Our home is shared with a friendly, energetic dog and a couple of affectionate cats.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the baby’s sleep patterns and establish a consistent sleep routine
  • Soothe and comfort the baby back to sleep when necessary
  • Monitor the baby’s health and development, noting any changes in behavior or condition
  • Prepare and set up the baby’s sleeping area to promote a safe and restful environment
  • Track and manage the baby’s feeding schedule to ensure proper nutrition
  • Assist in burping the baby after feeding to prevent discomfort and gas
  • Maintain an organized log of the baby’s sleep, feeding, and diapering habits for the parents’ reference
  • Keep the nursery and baby’s supplies well-stocked and organized
  • Collaborate with parents to develop a personalized care plan that meets the baby’s unique needs
  • Ensure all baby care equipment is clean, functioning, and safe for use
  • Provide parents with guidance on infant safety practices, including safe sleep guidelines
  • Support parents in establishing a balanced routine that promotes their well-being along with the baby’s
  • Offer emotional support and reassurance to new parents adjusting to life with a newborn
  • Be proactive in identifying potential concerns and offering solutions to ensure the baby’s comfort and health.

Qualifications:

  • Required for candidates with Doula, Sleep Training, or Newborn Care Specialist (NBCS) certification
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in an NBCS-related role
  • Extensive experience in newborn care, especially in night nanny or doula roles
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred
  • Reliable, punctual, and responsible with a strong work ethic
  • Clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to build positive rapport with both children and parents
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability and willingness to pass a background check
  • COVID-19, Tdap, and Flu vaccinations required
  • Proficiency in the English language
