Family Assistant/Nanny – McKinney, TX

Children: Two elementary-aged children

Compensation: $30-32/hr, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits are 1 week PTO, and gas reimbursement.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, mornings required

Description:
We are a busy, energetic family in McKinney, TX, seeking a proactive, responsible, and supportive family assistant/nanny to help with childcare and household management. The ideal candidate should have experience in both childcare and managing household tasks and be comfortable with light meal prepping/following a recipe. The candidate must be comfortable with driving the children to school, as mornings and school drop-offs are essential. Our ideal schedule is 6:30 am – 10:30 am, Monday through Friday, 20 hours per week, with slight
flexibility if needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with morning routines and school drop-offs (required)
  • Pack school snacks and help prepare children for the day
  • Help prepare breakfast for children and mom
  • Meal planning and prep based on dietary guidance (e.g., chopping vegetables, unwrapping/seasoning meats, making salad dressings, baking muffins, making protein snacks, preparing slow cooker meals
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and tidiness
  • Organize children’s clothing (seasonal changes, donating outgrown clothes, purchasing new sizes)
  • Wrap birthday gifts for children’s parties
  • Complete children’s laundry
  • Run errands (e.g., post office, grocery shopping
  • Take inventory of household items and handle grocery shopping as needed (groceries are often delivered)
  • Light household management and tidying, as the family has housecleaners twice a month
  • Help pull out, display, and put away seasonal and holiday décor (inside)
  • Help coordinate with other household service providers as needed (housecleaners & contractors)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a family assistant, nanny, or in a similar childcare role
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred
  • Reliable, punctual, and responsible, with a strong work ethic
  • Clean driving record (valid drivers license/insurance) and reliable transportation
  • Excellent communication skills, able to build a positive rapport and relationship with both children and parents
  • No criminal history
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Willingness to pass a background check
  • Fluent in English and able to update parents regularly on day-to-day activities
  • Must be pet-friendly (small dog)
