Expert Village Spotlight: Chloe Massey

Smiling woman with long blonde hair, glasses, and a blue sweater stands indoors with hands in pockets.

At Hello Nanny!, we know that raising a family takes more than love—it takes a village. That’s why we’ve built ours: Hello Nanny!’s Expert Village.

This curated network of trusted professionals—spanning child development, family wellness, mental health, education, and more—exists to help parents and caregivers navigate the complexities of modern family life with confidence.

We’re thrilled to spotlight our community of experts, sharing their story, their work, and the insights that inspire them. Because behind every great caregiver or parent is a team of people who make the journey a little easier. And, we’re here to make sure you never walk it alone.

We recently chatted with Dr. Chloe Massey, a parent coaching advisor at Poppins. Dr. Massey is a mom of three, and holds a Doctorate in Education from George Washington University and dual master’s degrees from NYU in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. As an adjunct professor and visiting lecturer, she balances academic work with active research. Through her virtual practice, she equips parents with evidence-based strategies that help understand behavior, build confidence, and strengthen family relationships.

Name and occupation:
Dr. Chloe Massey, Poppins Parent Coaching Advisor

Do you have kids? If so, how old are they?
Yes! 3 boys. 7 years old, 5 years old, and 10 months old.

Tell us about your company/current role:

I oversee our parent coaching team at Poppins. I hold a Doctorate in Education from George Washington University and dual master’s degrees from NYU in Early Childhood Education and Special Education so I know this space deeply.

What sets me apart is that I don’t stop at theory. I bring that expertise directly to parents through practical, evidence-based strategies for even the most complex behavioral challenges — because the goal is always clarity and action, not more noise.

I’m also a mom of three, which means I bring both the credentials and the lived experience.

A bit about Poppins: Parenting is hard. Poppins makes it less hard.

Think of Poppins as the expert team you always wished you had on speed dial — pediatric medical care, parent coaching, and sleep support, all in one place. No more endless Googling. No more bouncing between specialists. Just real answers, fast — from people who actually know kids.

Got a rash that appeared out of nowhere? Text your Poppins medical team and get a response in under 15 minutes. Toddler melting down for the fourth time today and you’re this close to joining them? Your parent coach has a game plan for that too.

How would your kids describe you? How would they describe what you do?

Love this. Just asked them…direct from the source 🙂 My kids would say I’m sweet, kind, and silly. Here is my job description according to them, “Our mommy helps other parents be good parents, and tells them… like things they might not know and maybe things that help them to help kids to do good behaviors and be happy.”

Go-to coffee (or tea) order:

Recently switched from oat milk back to whole milk. I love a latte with a dash of cinnamon. Always ordering large lattes these days…there is never enough coffee.

Any family traditions?

Yes! We do a Friday pizza night. During the warmer months we whip out our little pizza oven and do it outdoors, during the colder months it’s inside on a cast iron. We got really into this during COVID and the tradition has stuck. The kids make their own pizzas and the toppings get…creative. We give them full creative liberty over what they make. I’d say their pizzas are more trapezoid than circle, ha!

3 things you never leave the house without:

My water bottle (never not in my hand, yet why am I still always dehydrated?), my glasses , and snacks…so many snacks.

Piece of parenting advice that has stuck with you:

Oh! This is a good one. I’m usually the one giving the parenting advice. My favorite parenting advice comes from my mom. Since I became a parent, she’s been telling me to remember to keep a sense of humor. Life can feel so heavy, exhausting, and endless with multiple kids, different needs, logistics, and the list goes on. I try to keep this in mind and when I can laugh (which isn’t always), I do!

What does your support system look like?
My support system has looked different throughout my parenting journey. Right now my support system is my husband and our parents. We moved to be closer to family and during those hard days, the first call I make is to my parents for back up. The other huge part of my support system are my good girlfriends. Even though many of them live far away, we check in on each other, send voice notes, and keep each other going.

Last thing you did solely for yourself:

Actually, you’re catching me at a great time! I just had a solo morning of skiing by myself. I listened to my audiobook on the chairlift and enjoyed the quiet of a snowy solo skiing morning. My favorite self-care in the world.

If you had a magic wand to make one parenting challenge disappear, what would it be?

100% potty training. I would make potty training go away. It is such a pain point for so many families. That would be first to go!

The great news is that Poppins can help with this. We offer Potty Training Packages where parents can decide how they want to tackle it…whether it be child led, parent led, or a weekend bootcamp.
