Expert Village Spotlight: Kat Neill

A family of five in white clothes stands barefoot on a sandy beach with grass, smiling at the camera, reminiscent of moments shared in the Kat Neill interview.

At Hello Nanny!, we know that raising a family takes more than love—it takes a village. That’s why we’ve built ours: Hello Nanny!’s Expert Village.

This curated network of trusted professionals—spanning child development, family wellness, mental health, education, and more—exists to help parents and caregivers navigate the complexities of modern family life with confidence.

We’re thrilled to spotlight our community of experts, sharing their story, their work, and the insights that inspire them. Because behind every great caregiver or parent is a team of people who make the journey a little easier. And, we’re here to make sure you never walk it alone.

In this week’s Village Expert Spotlight, we chatted with Kat Neill, owner of CPR with Kat. She’s a certified CPR, First Aid, and Basic Life Support instructor with over 10 years of experience empowering communities to save lives. With degrees in Family Studies and Social Policy, Kat is passionate about providing accessible, expert-led training to workplaces, families, and organizations.

Name and occupation:

Kat Neill, Owner of CPR with Kat

Do you have kids? If so, how old are they?

Yes! Aria, age 9, JT age 7, Alana age 3, and Puppy Cooper who is 12 weeks.

How would your kids describe you? How would they describe what you do?

I asked my kids this exact question and will type their answer verbatim (ha ha!): Loving, positive, kind and supportive. Mommy tells jokes and makes people feel safe by teaching them how to bandage wounds and help them if they are choking and need their life saved.

Tell us about your company/current role:

CPR with Kat Offers CPR and First aid certifications, for community members and medical professionals, as well as Child and Infant CPR workshops for new and expecting parents plus their caregivers!

Go-to coffee (or tea) order:

Vanilla latte or a good cappuccino.

Any family traditions?

Morning snuggles! We start every day with a snuggle before we get going.

3 things you never leave the house without:

Hair tie, fanny pack and water! I’m always so thirsty!

Piece of parenting advice that has stuck with you:

Do not try to be perfect, no one is. Parents make mistakes, and when you do apologize and repair the relationship. This goes for your relationship with your kids and your partner. Give yourself grace.

What does your support system look like?

My support includes my family (I am very lucky that we are all so close) and the friend group that has become my family. Finding other moms at the same stage in motherhood with me has been such a blessing. Motherhood isn’t meant to be done alone and having people around you that understand what you are going through can be so beneficial.

Last thing you did solely for yourself:

I recently got back from a girls trip, no husbands, no kids, just a group of moms. It was such an incredible way to fill my cup so that I could continue to give to my family when I got home. 10/10 recommend!

If you had a magic wand to make one parenting challenge disappear, what would it be?

This answer depends on the day (ha ha). With 3 kids and a puppy the house is never clean, I don’t care how often I pick up. So I would love to wave a wand and have it be clean! OR I would love to have 3 of me. If we are talking about the kids, I would love a magic wand to make them stop arguing with each other—it’s like nails on a chalk board.
