At Hello Nanny, we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and excellence in household staffing. To ensure harmonious and successful partnerships between our candidates and families, we have established minimum requirements for all nannies and household professionals who join our network.
If you meet these qualifications—or are working toward them—you may be an excellent fit for our network. Additionally, certifications such as Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) certifications, Early Childhood Education (ECE), and other professional training certificates are highly encouraged and will strengthen your application.
Do You Meet Our Minimum Requirements?
To join the Hello Nanny network, candidates must meet the following criteria:
1. Experience & Professionalism
- A minimum of 3 years of recent childcare or household experience, including at least 1 year as a professional nanny or household provider in a private home.
- OR, if you lack the required experience but hold a bachelor’s degree in child development, education, or a related field, you may still qualify.
- Immaculate references from all former employers for the previous 3–5 years of employment.
- A proven track record of delivering exceptional care and maintaining professionalism in all roles.
2. Education
- High School Diploma required (college degree strongly preferred).
- Candidates with a bachelor’s degree may qualify even if they do not meet the full experience criteria.
3. Certifications (Highly Encouraged)
- Current CPR & First Aid Certification is mandatory.
- Certifications such as Newborn Care Specialist (NCS), Early Childhood Education (ECE), or other relevant professional certifications are highly encouraged and can set you apart as a candidate.
4. References & Background
- Ability to pass an extensive criminal background check with no disqualifying offenses.
- Clean driving record (when applicable).
5. Driving & Transportation
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and valid insurance for positions requiring driving.
6. Health & Safety
- Up-to-date TB and Tdap vaccinations.
- Must be a non-smoker.
7. Legal Requirements
- Legal U.S. citizen or valid visa documentation.
8. Commitment
- Willingness to make a minimum 1-year employment commitment for long-term roles.
9. California Nannies
- If you’re based in California, you must complete Trustline Certification upon hire (a state-mandated requirement).
