Live-In or Live-Out Nanny/Household Manager for a Studious & Ambitious Family in Cupertino, CA

Are you a pro-active and detail-oriented nanny with a passion for kids? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a busy family in Cupertino, CA. With a desired start date in June 2024, this family is seeking a dedicated caregiver who values safety, effective communication, and a collaborative partnership. Whether you prefer a live-in or live-out position, this role offers the chance to make a lasting impact on the lives of two incredible ten-year-old boy-girl twins. The ideal candidate can commit a minimum of one year to the family and would ideally seek a long-term, multi-year partnership.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting at $35 per hour
  • 4 weeks of paid vacation per year, 2 weeks at the discretion of the family, and 2 weeks at the discretion of the nanny as agreed upon with the family in advance, accrued at a rate of 12 hours per month after 90-day probationary period.

  • Access to a family vehicle for work-related transportation.

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Potential for additional hours.

Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM – 8:30 AM: Morning routine with children, including waking up, handling breakfast, and ensuring they are ready to leave the house. Drop them off at school promptly by 8:30 AM.

Flexibility between 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM: During this time, focus on maintaining general tidiness of the home, household chores (e.g. washing dishes, laundry), running errands, and meal preparation. A mid-day break is built into the schedule, allowing you to allocate personal time as desired. Our family understands the importance of work-life balance and is flexible with scheduling personal time.

Weekday afternoons: Tuesdays and Thursdays are the busiest with activities requiring drop-offs and pick-ups. On Thursdays, mom and dad will handle pick up from the kids’ activities and have dinner separately with the children to foster bonding time. Scheduling changes are possible with the start of the new academic year.

Summer: Duties include morning routine, and drop-off and pick-up from summer camps.

Daily: School pick-up at 3:00 PM.

Drop-off and pick-up from extra-curricular activities, primarily scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday.
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons are spent at home, focusing on studying and life enrichment activities alongside the children.
This schedule is designed to provide structure and balance to your work hours, allowing you to efficiently manage the children’s daily routines, household tasks, and personal time.

Please note that occasional flexibility may be required to accommodate the family’s needs.

  • Provide attentive care: Ensure the safety and well-being of the twins at all times, prioritizing their needs and creating a nurturing environment.

  • Transportation logistics: Pick up the children from school promptly at 3 PM and transport them to various activities, such as tennis, speech & debate, gymnastics, and language classes.

  • Homework support: Provide oversight for homework completion and incorporate existing educational and enrichment activities into their daily routine.

  • Foster growth in the areas of responsibility, independence, and inter-personal skills and communication: Model, teach, and oversee the development of good habits and social skills

  • Foster social and intellectual development: Engage the twins in age-appropriate and stimulating play to promote their social skills and intellectual curiosity.

  • Nutritious meal preparation: Prepare nutritious meals for the children while encouraging their independence and teaching them basic cooking skills.

  • Household chores: Washing dishes, laundry, running errands, and meal preparation (dinner 2-3X per week).

  • Maintain household tidiness: Ensure the common living space remains clean, tidy and organized, while also teaching the twins age-appropriate responsibilities for their own bedrooms.

  • Efficient errand running: Anticipate the family’s needs and run errands, including grocery shopping and other necessary tasks to maintain the household.

  • Collaborative partnership: Collaborate with the parents to create a structured and nurturing environment that supports the children’s growth and independence.

  • Effective communication: Maintain open and regular communication with the parents, sharing updates on the children’s progress, activities, and any concerns.


  • Previous nanny or household management experience, preferably with school-aged children.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize safety and make sound judgment calls.

  • Clean driving record and reliable transportation for school pick-ups and activity transportation.

  • Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of building positive rapport with children and parents.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and occasional evening hours.

  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States.

  • Clean driving record

  • Valid CPR Certification

  • Ability and willingness to pass a background check

  • Mandarin Chinese a plus (but not required)
