Eight years ago Stephanie Fornaro didn’t set out to change an industry. Like many new mothers, she set out to hire a nanny to help care for her newborn, but soon discovered a broken system that wasn’t built for families like hers.
That discovery ultimately drove her to establish Hello Nanny!®, a nationwide boutique nanny and household staffing agency that aims to improve the household staffing industry—for both families and professional caregivers. She realized families deserve a better, more ethical, and transparent path to finding trusted care. And, every great caregiver deserves a great employer, who values their professional expertise.
Stephanie is also the founder of the Workforce Infrastructure Institute, a nonpartisan policy organization advancing the idea that childcare isn’t a personal luxury, but imperative economic infrastructure. The Institute builds the evidence base for what millions of families already know: the cost of getting childcare wrong runs far deeper than a missed placement.
Beyond her leading Hello Nanny! and the Workforce Infrastructure Institute, she is a Certified Fair Play Method Facilitator, a Dallas CASA Champion of Children, and a member of the INA Board of Directors. But ask her what she’s most proud of, and she’ll tell you it’s this: every family Hello Nanny! places is proof that hiring a caregiver doesn’t have to mean choosing between doing it right and doing it well.
Her work and story have been featured in more than 50 national publications, including Forbes, Business Insider, Parents and more.
