How has your current role shaped your approach to parenting?
My role has reinforced the importance of perspective and intentionality at home. Leading a growing business has taught me to create clear boundaries to protect family time, knowing that being fully present matters more than being constantly available. It’s also shaped how I think about our home environment—an organized house (not a perfect one) creates calm, reduces stress, and helps our family function better day to day. Ultimately, it’s helped me prioritize what truly matters and be more present, patient, and purposeful as a parent.
How would your kids describe you?
They would describe me as funny, organized and annoyingly social. They would describe what I do as spending my days on the phone, on Zoom and in meetings!
What is one piece of parenting advice that has actually worked for your family?
Say I am sorry and never go to bed or leave the house without saying “I love you”.
What is a common piece of parenting advice you disagree with?
Parent your kids exactly the same.
Go-to coffee (or tea) order:
Grande, non-fat, 2-pump, no whip latte!
Do you have any family traditions?
We are big on family dinners and always have extra room and food for guests! We love country music and have a few songs that require us to stop whatever we are doing and have an impromptu dance party! We play A LOT of games and have never-ending scoresheets going.
3 things you never leave the house without:
My phone, my Stanley full of lemon water and Chapstick.
What does your support system look like?
My husband is my biggest fan and my rock. I couldn’t live without my Sunday reset list that sets me, the family and the house up for success. I would go hungry before getting rid of my cleaning lady. I gave up matching socks years ago – I keep a basket on top of the dryer and everyone is expected to get their own. Regular walks with my friends and Golden Retriever, Honey, keep me sane. And my faith keeps me anchored no matter what comes my way.
Last thing you did solely for yourself:
I declared a recent Saturday as a “no phone day” and I LOVED it! I took a walk, had lunch with a friend, took a nap, read a book, puttered around my house and watched a movie. Perfect.
If you had a magic wand to make one parenting challenge disappear, what would it be?:
Screens, technology and social media! Too big of a wish?! 🙂
